Job Title: Stress Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Stress Engineer to play a key role in laying out structural load paths for early conceptual designs, ensuring they meet high-level requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both metallic and composite structures, and the ability to execute trade studies to identify the most weight-efficient concepts.
Responsibilities
+ Develop structural load paths for conceptual designs using first principles.
+ Execute trade studies to assess various design solutions.
+ Collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, working closely with design, fabrication, assembly, and other key functions.
+ Create, manage, and run Global Finite Element Models (GFEM) for stress team use.
+ Develop Detail Finite Element Models (DFEM) to validate design principles.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Catia, stress analysis, and structural analysis.
+ Experience with finite element analysis (FEM) and Femap.
+ 10+ years of experience preferred, but candidates with 5-7 years will be considered.
+ Experience with metallic and composite structures.
+ Proficient in Boeing design processes and ENOVIA.
+ Recent experience with Boeing or commercial structures within the last 10 years.
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering is strongly preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with conceptual design first principles analysis for primary composite structures.
+ Knowledge of composite structures failure modes and unique analysis methodologies.
+ Experience in aero structures, product development, and new design.
+ Experience with commercial OEM (Boeing or Airbus) or similar clients.
Work Environment
This is a long-term, 12-month+ contract position supporting commercial & defense programs for an aerospace client. The candidates must be onsite at the manufacturing facility.

This is a Contract position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $100.00/hr.
