As a Quality Control Lab Assistant, you will play a vital role in the preparation of materials for testing and support professional and certified staff in conducting various laboratory tests. Your responsibilities will include handling samples, managing inventory, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Assist in the preparation of materials for testing.
+ Aid professional and certified individuals in performing various laboratory tests.
+ Receive and prepare samples through front-end automation.
+ Store and archive samples in refrigerated and frozen conditions.
+ Utilize computerized reports to retrieve and reconcile samples from archives for additional testing.
+ Prepare buffer materials for testing.
+ Receive specimens and supplies, and process and record information from collection centers.
+ Handle and track donor samples from receipt to final testing.
+ Dispose of samples into biohazard containers after testing is complete.
+ Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation within the assigned department.
+ Use the laboratory computerized inventory management system to locate, track, and determine testing status of samples.
+ Assist with monitoring inventory levels for laboratory supplies and notify the supervisor of inventory needs.
Essential Skills
+ Basic computer skills.
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Laboratory experience or a background in production line work is preferred.
+ Data entry and inspection skills.
Work Environment
The position is based in a donor processing/manufacturing facility. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3 PM, with the first day orientation typically held on Monday from 10 AM to 12 PM. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.20 - $16.20/hr.
