Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

The Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in product design, focusing on both automated and manual type machines. This role requires expertise in SolidWorks and involves collaborating with sales and production teams to support new and existing products. The engineer will also be responsible for assembling and testing prototypes.

Responsibilities

+ Design and detail automated and manual type machines using SolidWorks.

+ Collaborate with sales and production teams to support new and existing product lines.

+ Assemble and test prototypes to ensure design specifications are met.

+ Contribute to product launches and development of new products.

+ Work with production teams to build machines and address production issues as they arise.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in SolidWorks for product design.

+ 4+ years of design experience.

+ Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), preferably using the advanced tool in SolidWorks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) highly preferred.

+ Experience with product launch and new product development.

+ Familiarity with machine design or large equipment design is a plus.

+ Experience working with steel or sheet metal is a plus.

+ Proficiency in MS Project is highly preferred.

Work Environment

The Mechanical Engineer will focus 70% of their time on new product development and 30% on updating legacy products and mentoring junior engineers. The company is transitioning all product development and R&D in-house, having previously collaborated with partner companies overseas. The role involves close collaboration with production teams to ensure successful machine builds and resolve any production issues.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Rockford, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $93000.00/yr.
