Job Title: Construction Project Manager
Job Description
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) Project Manager or Program Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations from pre-construction through project completion and warranty periods. This role involves managing project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, proposals, estimates, documentation turnover, client relations, and field staff to effectively execute EPC, Construction Management, Construction, and Program Management projects.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee day-to-day construction activities and ensure successful execution of single or multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Provide direction and participate in project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and establishing critical project objectives.
+ Develop and manage client relationships while handling proposal and project-related items.
+ Participate in internal and external project risk reviews and consult with the Legal Department as needed.
+ Negotiate prime contracts, CM contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
+ Implement sections of the Project Execution Plan, including construction execution, quality assurance, safety & health, subcontracting, staffing, organization chart, and procurement.
+ Develop construction staffing plans, train project teams, and coordinate activities across multiple disciplines.
+ Verify all applicable project permits are secured.
+ Direct and oversee RFP and bid processes, preparing detailed scope of work documents.
+ Review and approve internal and external reports including budgeting, cash flow forecasts, and project status.
+ Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and distribute engineering deliverables per project schedule.
+ Manage downstream contract administration including RFIs, submittals, change management, and contract closeout.
+ Oversee invoicing processes for Prime Contract, subcontractor, and client contractors.
+ Coordinate and facilitate commissioning and startup teams as needed.
+ Implement, audit, and oversee project documentation.
+ Perform project safety, quality, progress, and financial audits.
+ Oversee the project-specific non-conformance reporting process.
+ Facilitate project cost reporting, scheduling, and progress tracking.
+ Develop and oversee materials receiving and management processes.
+ Review contract documents for compliance with safety, health, quality, and schedule requirements.
+ Direct project turnover documentation, warranty administration, project closeout, and recordkeeping.
+ Support communication with governmental, industry, and public entities on project-related matters.
+ Provide mentorship and training to interns, construction coordinators, craft supervision, and assistant construction project managers.
+ Manage community and building trades relationships.
+ Develop and implement project labor agreements as required.
+ Onboard craft/field supervision and manage staffing on projects.
+ Maintain accurate craft classifications and training standards.
+ Estimate, forecast, and manage craft install unit rates.
+ Manage construction equipment inventory.
+ Comply with company policies and procedures.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
+ 7 years of relevant project management experience in the construction industry.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management software is preferred.
+ Experience with transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
Work Environment
The position is onsite in Bloomington in a corporate office.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58.00 - $75.00/hr.
