    Advertising/Posting Title Network Technician

    Posting Summary

    Perform installation, maintenance, design, diagnostic and logistics to support data/voice/video communications network. Configure and troubleshoot complex high speed switch networks. Reports to the Telecommunications Systems Manager.

    Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

    Associates degree and/or three years’ experience installing and troubleshooting LAN devices in a large network. Knowledge of Cisco switching architecture, security practices and a thorough knowledge of router configuration. Knowledge of fiber optics, LAN , wireless design technology and telephony networks testing equipment is also required.

    Desirable Qualifications

    Anticipated Pay Range $28/hour to $38/hour

    Special Conditions Bargaining unit position, A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Background Check required for this position
