    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to handle both emergency and preventative maintenance tasks. This role operates from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break, and includes approximately an hour of overtime daily. Scheduled work includes every other Saturday, where all hours beyond an 8-hour day, as well as Saturday hours, are compensated at time and a half. The position focuses on maintaining production by working on various equipment such as baggers, pipes, augers, conveyor belts, food fillers, sealers, freezers, and inkjet printers. A strong electrical troubleshooting ability is essential, as well as experience with mechanical tasks, with a workload split of approximately 70% mechanical and 30% electrical.

    Responsibilities

    + Maintain and repair baggers, pipes, augers, conveyor belts, food fillers, sealers, freezers, and inkjet printers.

    + Ensure production continues by applying temporary fixes until full repairs can be conducted.

    + Work with hydraulics and pneumatics, repairing cylinders and solenoids, and using blueprints for line identification.

    + Perform preventative maintenance on all assigned plant equipment including gearboxes, bearings, chains, and belts.

    + Ensure mechanical and physical integrity of production equipment to minimize downtime.

    + Assist mechanics and 1st shift production departments as needed.

    + Properly and safely use maintenance shop equipment such as drill presses and lathes.

    + Follow all safety and housekeeping procedures.

    + Perform other assigned duties.

    + Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, and engage in bending and twisting activities.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience repairing hydraulics and pneumatics.

    + Strong electrical repair and troubleshooting skills, including 480 volt/3 phase systems.

    + Industrial maintenance experience with conveyors.

    + Excellent attitude with a team mentality and positive outlook.

    + Reliable attendance.

    + Food manufacturing maintenance experience is a plus.

    + Additional PLC experience is beneficial.

     

    Work Environment

     

    Join a clean and well-maintained food manufacturing environment in a 400,000 sq ft facility. Most of the facility is temperature-controlled at 55 degrees, with some areas cooler. Work in a team-oriented atmosphere where colleagues support each other. Standard steel-toed boots with some liquid resistance are sufficient for safety.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $67600.00/yr.

    • However - they will consider the amount of time spent as a true maintenance tech at other companies when determining vacation time.
