•️ Prototype Machinist — Emeryville, CA

Join our cutting-edge machine shop in Emeryville as a **Prototype Machinist** , where you'll own the entire part-making process—from tooling and CAM programming to inspection and design feedback. You'll work hands-on with advanced CNC equipment (3-axis to 5-axis mills, live-tool lathes, waterjets, laser cutters) and collaborate with a tight-knit team to keep the shop clean, safe, and efficient.

• What You'll Do

+ Interpret 3D models and drawings to plan setups, program CAM, and design fixtures

+ Operate CNC machines with precision (±0.0005 in / ±13 µm)

+ Develop tooling and work-holding solutions for prototyping

+ Perform inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM

+ Optimize feeds/speeds and improve shop processes

+ Provide DFM feedback and support R&D hardware fabrication

+ Document workflows and share lessons learned

• Shifts & Schedule

+ **Day Shift:** 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

+ ***Night Shift:** 12:30 AM – 9:00 AM

***Note:** This role will **start on the day shift (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM)** for ramp-up and training, and **transition to the night shift** within the first six months.

• What You Bring

+ 3+ years CNC experience in high-mix, low-volume environments

+ Welding certification and strong fabrication skills

+ Mastery of CAM platforms (Fusion 360, Mastercam, etc.)

+ Deep GD&T literacy and metrology proficiency

+ Experience with aluminum, stainless steel, titanium

+ Manual machining skills and strong communication

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $97760.00 - $122720.00/yr.
