    Job Title: 2nd Shift Assembler

    Job Description

    As a 2nd Shift Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling electrical and mechanical parts into finished products using various tools and assembly process equipment. This role involves cross-training in mechanical, electronic, testing, microscope, soldering, and finishing areas. You will frequently use screwdrivers and torque wrenches and may be required to hand solder depending on the department. Additionally, you will use adhesives and chemicals as part of the assembly process and computer workstations for record-keeping and testing. You will perform electronic testing on final assemblies using various test equipment and be trained on functions and products within the department. Quality control inspection functions are also part of the job, and you must be able to lift up to 40 pounds consistently.

    Responsibilities

    + Assemble electrical and mechanical parts into finished products.

    + Cross-train in mechanical, electronic, testing, microscope, soldering, and finishing areas.

    + Use screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and hand solder as needed.

    + Utilize adhesives and chemicals during assembly.

    + Operate computer workstations for record-keeping and testing.

    + Perform electronic testing on final assemblies.

    + Conduct quality control inspections.

    + Lift up to 40 pounds consistently.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency with hand tools, soldering, and small screwdrivers.

    + Experience with torque wrenches and wiring.

    + Ability to follow work instructions and read blueprints and schematics.

    + Experience with microscopes.

    + Must have experience with PCB or small part assembly.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Diploma highly preferred.

    + Certification in J-STD-001 is preferred.

    Work Environment

     

    The work schedule is from 2pm to 10:30pm, Monday to Friday, with training on the day shift for 1-3 weeks. You will work in a large production area with different lines supporting gas and flame detection sensors. The environment may have a strong epoxy smell in certain areas. Safety gear such as smocks and safety glasses is provided, while safety toe shoes are not. Cross-training is provided to help place you in a department that suits your skills and preferences

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, MN.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $24.00/hr.
