    The Contract Management Services team is part of Humana’s Enterprise Procurement and Supplier Management department. The Senior Contract Manager role involves drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on supplier contracts for purchases of goods and services for the whole enterprise. The role serves as subject matter experts for contractual terms, maintain and develop Humana’s contracting standards and processes, and serve as a liaison between the Humana business units who have procurement needs and the corporate functions whose job is to reduce risk.

     

    In addition, the position entails serving as a liaison between the Humana business units, Law, Audit, and Risk, with responsibilities including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on legal contracting provisions for purchasing goods and services. Problem resolution of diverse scope and complexity, ranging from moderate to substantial, is also vital to the role. Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all contracting activities is imperative.

     

    Provides strategic oversight, risk management, compliance, and performance optimization while providing consultation and information on the operational aspects of administering contract negotiations.

     

    *This is remote position however the candidate must be willing to work within Eastern Standard Time zone hours

    The Senior Contract Manager is an experienced professional who will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and processing procurement contracts, including:

    + Schedules for goods and services

    + Statements of Work

    + Non-Disclosure Agreements

    + Master Business or Service Agreements

    + Software license agreements, Cloud services agreements, appliance agreements,

    + Business Associate Agreements

    + Information Security Agreements

     

    Serving as the primary and/or secondary Contract Manager aligned to various procurement categories, with primary responsibility for contracts with suppliers to all Humana Business units. Guiding fellow procurement professionals on contract template selection, drafting, and negotiation strategy:

     

    + Advising business partner and related stakeholders on contractual risk and mitigating factors, during negotiations and prior to execution.

    + Liaising with Legal, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Business Partner Compliance and other internal regulatory/compliance functions to mitigate contractual risk.

    + Educating other associates on use of contracting tools and processes.

    + Participating in and leading working groups to improve contract templates and processes

    + Undertaking contract research and review projects on an ad hoc basis.

    + Making decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree

    + 5 +years of experience negotiating procurement commercial terms and conditions

    + Contract redlining etiquette/set of rules expertise to help drive contract negotiations forward

    + Exceptional understanding and ability to extract actionable insights using tools and analytics skills

    + Strong knowledge of procurement practices and techniques

    + Exceptional written and verbal communications, time management and interpersonal skills

    + Willing to train and educate team and users in new processes, policies, and procedures or technologies aimed at improving Humana’s contract negotiations process and closing times

    + Exemplify excellent emotional intelligence in positively influencing various stakeholders and improving business dynamics within Procurement and broadly across Humana

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Juris Doctor from an accredited University

    + Experience with Salesforce CRM and/or contract lifecycle management software

    Pay Range

    The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

    $86,300 - $118,700 per year

    This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
