    A Snapshot of Your Day

    Join our dynamic steam turbine machining department as a Machine Heat Treat

    Technician! In this hands-on role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the

    mechanical integrity and performance of turbine components through precise heat

    treatment processes. You will set up and operate furnaces, monitor temperature

    cycles, and perform inspections using advanced testing techniques. Your

    expertise will contribute to the success of our team and the quality of our

    products.

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    + **Heat Treatment Operations:** Youwill set up and operate furnaces and ovens, preparing parts for stressrelief and nitriding, ensuring optimal conditions for each treatment.

    + **Machining Support:** Youwill run CNC lathes, cylindrical grinders, and/or hones to preparecomponents for heat treatment, interpreting blueprints and technicaldrawings to meet specifications accurately.

    + **Quality Assurance:** Youwill conduct hardness testing and eddy current inspections to verifymaterial properties, diligently documenting treatment parameters andinspection results.

    + **Equipment Maintenance:** Youwill perform routine maintenance of heat treatment and testing equipment,troubleshooting basic mechanical and electrical issues as needed.

    + **Safety & Compliance:** Youwill follow all OSHA, EPA, and company-specific safety protocols, usingappropriate PPE and maintaining a clean and organized work environment toensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues.

    What You Bring

    + A high school diploma or GED isrequired; technical certification in machining or metallurgy is preferred,with a minimum of 2 years of experience in heat treatment operationswithin a machining or manufacturing environment.

    + Proficiency in lathe operation andthe ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.

    + A working knowledge of stress relieftechniques, nitriding processes, and stainless steel metallurgy.

    + Experience using eddy currenttesting equipment and hardness testers (e.g., Rockwell, Brinell).

    + The ability to lift up to 50 lbs andwork in high-temperature environments.

    + Strong attention to detail,problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently orcollaboratively within a team.

    Preferred:

    + Certification in Heat Treating(e.g., ASTM, AMS standards).

    + Experience in steam turbinecomponent manufacturing or repair.

    + Familiarity with CNC programming andautomated furnace controls.

     

    Applicants must be legally authorized for

    employment in the United States without need for current or future

    employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current

    visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

     

    Successful applicants must be able to

    pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests or any other

    assessments required to perform the duties, and obtain a Career Readiness/Work

    Keys Certificate – Silver Status required as a pre-employment assessment.
