Job Title: Commercial Billing Specialist

Work Type: Hybrid (On-site for first 6 months, then 2 days remote / 3 days in office)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Contract Duration: 4 months (Contract-to-Hire Opportunity)

Pay Rate: $22/hour

Overview:

We are seeking a Commercial Billing Specialist to support premium billing operations for large commercial groups. This is a high-impact role ideal for professionals with strong billing, reconciliation, and Excel skills who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Manage premium billing for large commercial accounts (600–800 groups per person; 8,000–20,000 members).

+ Process payments via phone and online portal.

+ Handle 10–15 inbound/outbound calls daily related to billing and discrepancies.

+ Create and distribute monthly billing and reconciliation spreadsheets.

+ Perform account reconciliations and manage accounts receivable, including past-due notices.

+ Track retroactive billing adjustments and maintain accurate records.

+ Deliver exceptional customer service to large group clients.

+ Collaborate within a small, close-knit team and adapt to evolving systems and workflows.

Qualifications:

+ Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

+ Experience: 5+ years in billing, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.

+ Proven ability to generate bills, perform complex reconciliations, and build reports.

+ Technical Skills: Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, sorting/filtering).

+ Ability to create spreadsheets and reports from scratch.

+ Familiarity with CSC billing systems; readiness to transition to QNEXT and Whipro.

+ Industry Background : Experience in banking, medical billing, or property management is a plus.

+ Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Training Program:

+ Month 1: Shadowing and learning the role.

+ Month 2: Performing tasks independently with oversight.

+ Month 3: Working independently with support available.

+ Note: No phone responsibilities during months 2 and 3.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
