    Level 3 Data Center Technician

     

    Schedule: B Side – Thursday, Friday, Saturday & every other Wednesday (6 AM – 6 PM)

    Job Brief:

    We are seeking a skilled Level 3 Data Center Technician to join our IT team. Responsibilities include maintaining data center systems, troubleshooting issues, performing server installations, and ensuring uninterrupted network services. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of network infrastructure, data center operations, server installations, and network updates. Experience with GPU deployment and at least 4+ years in a hyperscale environment is required.

    Responsibilities:

    + Perform Level 1 and Level 2 tasks as needed, including:

    + Move, inspect, and install servers and switches according to wire maps.

    + Bundle and route cables neatly per standards; verify connectivity with network admins.

    + Install additional components (NIC, drives, memory) and assist with unboxing/prepping servers.

    + Audit servers and consumables; troubleshoot and isolate server issues.

    + Order and replace defective parts; update firmware; configure IP addresses and credentials.

    + Assist network admins with cabling, optics replacement, and hardware upgrades.

    + Rack and stack servers/switches for remote configuration.

    + Deploy and configure GPUs; perform break-fix tasks and component replacements.

    + Provide advanced troubleshooting and ticket resolution.

    + Act as liaison between team members and management; prioritize workload.

    + Review build documentation, validate concerns, and direct build activities.

    + Ensure projects align with data center standards and safety measures.

    + Manage multiple projects under high-pressure conditions; monitor deadlines and report status.

    Requirements:

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.

    + Familiarity with office productivity tools.

    + Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, climb ladders, and wear PPE when required.

    + Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.

    + 4+ years of experience in a hyperscale environment.

    Skills:

    + Data center operations, deployment, fiber optic cabling, rack & stack, troubleshooting, Cat6/Cat5, GPU installation.

    Additional Qualifications:

    + CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience.

    + CompTIA Server+ or equivalent experience.

    + CCENT or equivalent experience; CCNA preferred.

    + Windows OS experience; MCP/MSCE preferred.

    + Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) preferred.

    + Experience with structured cabling, fiber testing, and storage devices.

    + Familiarity with ITIL framework and ticketing systems.

    + Strong understanding of network fundamentals (OSI Layers 1–3).

    + OSHA30 or higher certification.

    This is a Contract position based out of Mount Pleasant, WI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
