Job Description

The ISS Monitor position is responsible for ensuring that students that are placed in the In-School Suspension Program work on study habits, classroom behavior skills, and a positive self-image.

Duties and Responsibilities

+ Provide supervision for scholars who are assigned to the In-School Suspension classroom.

+ Review in-school suspension policies, procedures and student expectations with scholars daily.

+ Work with students and or other staff members on issues such as behavior management and the prevention of undesirable behaviors that resulted in student being assigned to ISS.

+ Monitor all ISS assignments; provide encouragement and feedback to students, monitor tests, computer work and provide instructional assistance as appropriate.

+ Ensure students have security escorts to lavatory facilities.

+ Work with teachers to get scholar work and for ISS time and return work to teacher in a timey manner.

+ Maintain logs for all students assigned to the room.

+ Facilitate and arrange delivery of student lunches when necessary.

+ Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Qualifications/Education and/or Experience

+ Minimum Bachelor's degree in Education, Master's Degree preferred

+ Belief in and alignment with REACH Academy Charter School core beliefs and educational philosophy

+ Experience working in Urban Education and both elementary and middle school scholars.

Salary

$20.00/Hour
