    Summary This position is located at Auto Skills, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, FL. The purpose of this position is to provide tools that assist patrons with self-maintenance of vehicles. Tasks may also include a variety of duties in support of MWR that may include special events, recreation information/resources, community events, grab and go, tours, outings, party and picnic rental equipment, recreational green space management, and outdoor recreation. Responsibilities General (Duties include but are not limited to): Inspects tools and equipment prior to issue to ensure proper working order. Issues rental equipment and tools and ensures that patrons are properly briefed on usage of items, safety requirements and return policies. Responsible for noting any damage or missing parts and discussing issue with patron and/or supervisor. Keeps a daily inventory of tools and is required to advise supervisor when facilities need repair and/or when equipment and supplies need replacing. Performs general housekeeping duties as required to include policing grounds, sweeping and dusting work area, emptying trash receptacles and cleaning and cleaning and restocking restrooms. Receives and records on cash register money received from patrons for use of facility. Responsible to maintain a change fund and prepares Daily Activity Report at the end of each shift makes deposit to the drop safe. Advises supervisory when facilities need repair and when equipment and supplies need replacing. Receives and makes reservations for use of facilities (i.e., RV Park, Auto-Rama, vehicle storage, wood shop), equipment and special events/programs. Maintains log and historical records of transactions occurring in the facility. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Knowledge of the MWR department in order to answer customer question and/or refer customers to the appropriate activity. Skilled in keyboarding to include operation of point-of-sale systems as well as desktop computer operations. Ability to perform basic computer operations. Ability to read and comprehend in order to adhere to published rules, regulations, standard operating procedures, checklists, and other guides. Ability to perform basic custodial tasks as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping, dusting, etc. Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to identify customer needs, deliver expected service and/or resolve routine customer issues. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
