Job Description
Insight Global's client is a top marine communications client servicing both government and commercial clients. As their team continues to grow, they have opened an additional position for a Cyber Security Engineer on their team. This role is 5 days a week onsite in Deerfield Beach, FL and requires eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
Join their dynamic cybersecurity team as a Cyber Security Specialist and become a vital defender of their digital assets and infrastructure. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in information security, network security, and cybersecurity frameworks to safeguard their IT environment across cloud and on-premises platforms. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity strategies aligned with industry standards such as TEMPEST, CISSP, NIST 800-53, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Zero Trust, VMWare, Cisco and Arubato ensure robust protection of organizational assets.
Manage and monitor security tools including SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems for real-time threat detection and incident management.
Oversee network security infrastructure including firewalls, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), IPS (Intrusion Prevention Systems), VPNs, and load balancers to secure LAN/WAN environments.
Implement encryption protocols (FIPS standards), PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), Active Directory, and RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) for identity & access management.
Lead incident response efforts by coordinating incident recovery procedures, disaster recovery planning, and forensic investigations following cyber incidents or data breaches.
Collaborate with IT teams on system administration tasks including system security configurations for servers like Oracle databases and PaaS/IaaS cloud architectures.
Ensure compliance with PCI DSS standards for payment card data security and adhere to IT governance frameworks such as ITIL and COBIT.
Support the development of secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices by integrating security into DevOps pipelines using CI/CD tools.
Maintain documentation of security policies, procedures, audit logs, and compliance reports while promoting awareness of cybersecurity best practices across the organization.

Skills and Requirements
- 4-5+ years in cybersecurity roles with a strong understanding of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, TCP/UDP protocols.
- Valid CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification
- Experience working within the DOD and/or government industries
- In-depth knowledge of network security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), IDS/IPS systems like Juniper or similar
- Hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk or equivalent for threat detection and incident management.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform;
- Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash (Unix shell), Python or Java for automation and vulnerability research tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience - Cloud architecture/design experience
- Experience implementing FIPS encryption standards
- Knowledge of compliance standards such as FISMA, PCI DSS, DIACAP
- Any additional cyber security certifications
