Applications Engineer – High Reliability Capacitors

Compensation: $80,000 - $106,000 / year
Description
The Applications Engineer is responsible for the support of the sales, marketing and manufacturing of ceramic capacitor products serving all target markets. The person acts as technical liaison to customers and will also heavily interact with internal production personal as well as external vendors. An intimate knowledge of processes, capabilities and MIL Standards is essential.
Key Responsibilities
+ Field customer technical questions.
+ Interact with customers to define custom part requirements and evaluate feasibility.
+ Ensure all customer drawings are up to date.
+ Participate in the ECN process.
+ Work with engineering team to define testing and evaluation where required.
+ Works with Product Managers to design and develop new products.
+ Coordinate with Sales to fully understand their requirements and applications.
+ International travel and training for new products/processes may be required.
+ Work with the Quality department to address quality issues.
+ Maintain catalogue, datasheet and website technical content.
+ Write and/or assist in writing technical articles and papers.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
+ BS degree preferably in Electrical Engineering discipline.
+ 3-5 years’ work experience in a technical role with customer interaction.
+ Experience with capacitive and or RF products/applications.
+ Self-directed, highly professional and collaborative.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong attention to detail and propensity for accuracy of work product.
+ Accountability to the timelines of task completion.
+ Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities within a fast-paced workplace.
+ Strong problem solving skills.

Knowles is committed to providing a competitive and fair total compensation package for all employees.
One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting salary for this role is targeted to be between $80,000 to $106,000 annually.
Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range. We recognize that the person(s) we select for hire may be less experienced or more experienced than the role as posted; if this is the case, any updates to available salary ranges will be communicated with candidates during the recruitment process.
