The Bayport Plant is split between indoor and outdoor, lower hazard manufacturing. The site continually works toward a more sustainable presence in our local community and for our customers.
The Bayport Operator/Mechanic monitors and operates equipment and facilities, including field equipment, insuring quality, and conformance with standard operating procedures. Always maintains safety standards and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary. Performs basic maintenance repair and upkeep on area equipment. May perform advanced maintenance activities, as qualified.
This position is located at a facility that requires special access and subject to governmental inspections. Applicants must be U.S. Citizen.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
+ Utilizing strong attention to detail and multi-tasking, responsible for quality control of product, which includes frequent in-process and final product quality testing. Respond to out of control points by either following established action plans for process disruptions or adjusting equipment as appropriate for equipment disruptions.
+ Required to identify and complete preventive maintenance. Handle first-line troubleshooting such as equipment malfunctions, computer program issues, setting adjustments; involving appropriate other experts as needed.
+ Various other tasks as assigned by supervision are required as a part of the daily routine to maintain safe operation and area standards (i.e. general housekeeping, etc.).
+ Works with process / technical group on Management of Changes (MOCs) and projects as well as other work.
+ Use computer programs SAP, MS Word, MS Excel, MS SharePoint, DuPont e-mail systems and others as deemed appropriate.
Qualifications:
+ High School diploma
+ Crafted journeyman and or associates in electrical, instrument, millwright, etc.
+ Teamwork skills
+ Troubleshooting skills; ability to think and act quickly
+ Communication skills
+ Willing and able to climb stairs, lift up to 50lbs, and work from heights
+ Willing and able to work 12-hour rotating shift, including holidays with 7-day breaks.
