    We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our Legal Department. This role will support a team of attorneys through assisting with team administrative needs, litigation docketing and tracking, subpoena processing, incident response support, corporate governance tasks, and document management. Ideal candidates will be team-oriented, a self-starter with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet multiple deadlines promptly with moderate supervision.

     

    Our Legal Department consists of attorneys, paralegals, and corporate legal assistants who provide legal support to the company on a wide variety of specialties and topics. The team of attorneys to be served by this role cover specialties including risk and litigation, employment matters, cyber security and privacy, corporate governance and securities, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property. This role will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of legal topics and tasks.

     

    This position can be based to work out of the following locations: Lenexa, KS; and Springfield/Monett, MO. This is a hybrid position that requires you to come to the office approximately once per week for onsite meetings, events, and training. The remainder of the time you may work remotely from home. Compensation for this position will be $22-34/hour, depending on candidate experience and geographic location.

    What you’ll be responsible for:

    + Serve as primary point of contact for subpoenas, respond to initial requests for information, and track the process to completion.

    + Manage the legal department’s litigation and docketing calendar.

    + Assist with the discovery process, including coordinating with the records department, managing data gathering, and assisting outside counsel with production.

    + Support implementation of legal holds.

    + Assist with communication with outside counsel, including invoicing and updates on outstanding matters.

    + Support closed trading period coordination in connection with insider trading compliance.

    + Assist with M&A-related due diligence projects.

    + Provide direct support during incident response scenarios.

    + Attend meetings within and outside the legal department as required to support organizational projects.

    + Work on special projects and other legal initiatives as needed.

    + Provide administrative support when necessary.

    + Be thorough in communication with an attention to detail and accuracy.

    + May perform other duties as assigned.

    What you’ll need to have:

    + Must have a minimum of 18 months of paralegal or legal assistant experience.

    + Must be able to travel up to 5% to other Jack Henry office locations for meetings, training, or to attend a professional conference.

    What would be nice for you to have:

    + Bachelor’s Degree.

    + Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint technology is a huge plus.

    + Experience with Salesforce, AdvoLogix, or similar platforms.

    + Experience within a large legal department.

    + Paralegal or legal assistant certificate from accredited educational program is a plus.

    + Familiarity with the financial industry.

    + Self-starter who is curious and enjoys working on practical solutions in a fast-paced environment for a variety of matters.
