What you'll do...
Join Walmart as a Senior Software Engineer, leading the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions aligned with strategic platform objectives. This role involves full lifecycle ownership, including coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of services and APIs. About the team:
Our team leads the development and management of extended reality technologies. We are creating the next-generation XR platform, fully integrated with internal AI solutions tailored for retail applications. The team focuses on delivering scalable, secure, and innovative software solutions by collaborating across functions and leveraging advanced tools and practices. Members contribute to design, development, deployment, and continuous improvement, ensuring high-quality outcomes that align with broader platform and business goals. This environment fosters technical growth and impactful innovation in emerging XR technologies.
What you'll do:
+ Own delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and system goals.
+ Write clean, efficient code and drive full software development lifecycle including CI/CD, automated testing, and maintenance.
+ Integrate AI/ML components and leverage GenAI tools to enhance software intelligence and development efficiency.
+ Assist in solution design, participate in design reviews, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and success metrics.
+ Monitor application performance and support defect management and debugging.
+ Mentor peers and promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
What you'll bring:
+ Proven expertise in software development with proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Kotlin, Jetpack, Dart, and C#/C++.
+ Experience in full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, automated testing, and maintenance.
+ Strong skills in DevOps practices, solution design, and technical leadership.
+ Ability to integrate AI/ML components and leverage GenAI tools to enhance software intelligence.
+ Proficient with tools like Git, Docker, and PostgreSQL, and experience with Unity Engine and AR/VR technologies.
+ Demonstrated capability in collaborating across teams and mentoring peers.
+ Commitment to delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable software aligned with business goals.
+ Experience with XR technologies and architectures (ie. ARFoundation, OpenXR, ARCore, ARKit, MRTK)

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
