    + • This position is responsible for mentoring and developing a team consisting of data reporting analysts. The data analysts are responsible for developing quantitative analysis and decision support for the Inflight organization. • This role will lead efforts to develop and execute a database strategy for Inflight, while working closely with key stakeholders such as IT, Crew Planning, Operations Research, Customer Experience, Base Operations, Onboard Dining & Service, and Inflight Training.• The role is a part of the Inflight Innovation and Insights team.

    + Leads a team of analytics professionals who obtain, manipulate, clean, and analyze large structured and unstructured data from diverse sources to develop meaningful reports that drive value for Flight Service

    + Prioritizes projects and completes groundwork for development and implementation of new data reports

    + Communicates results to senior management and develops usable metrics to enable these groups to better manage their business

    + Promotes data driven decision making

    + Drives the prioritization of system enhancements to the Attendance and Performance System (APS)

    + Defines best practice approaches for database optimization, automation of reporting and interpreting data

    + Modernize suite of tools using latest data extraction and reporting technologies through adoption and training across Flight Service

    + Communicates with various departments and frontline flight attendants

     

    All you'll need for success

    Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience/training

    • 5 years previous work experience in data extraction, analysis and reporting

    Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    • Master’s Degree

    • 5+ years previous work experience in similar analytical role(s)

    • Prior experience leading cross-functional teams

    Skills, Licenses & Certifications

    • Ability to lead a large team on projects that impact large business units

    • Ability to be a strong people leader; to develop talent and create a cohesive team environment

    • Experience with data visualization software (Tableau, Cognos, Zoomdata, etc.)

    • Advanced knowledge of databases and general data warehouse best practices

    • Strong analytical capability, including application of quantitative reasoning to resolve complex problems

    • Highly creative and analytical, with demonstrated decision-making skills and ability to analyze data and produce actionable insights for far-reaching decisions

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Ability to build and facilitate relationships at all levels of the organization

    • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives with varying due dates and importance across a wide range of constituents

    • Experience using data retrieval and visualization methods such as SQL, SAS, Tableau, Cognos, Alteryx

    • Advanced familiarity using data retrieval and visualization methods such as SQL, SAS, Python, PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos, Alteryx

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (MS Excel, Access and PowerPoint); advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required
