Pharmacist - Inpatient Operations (Nights)

Oversees the nightly operation of the pharmacy. Ensures the safe and effective use of medications by providing optimal drug product selection dosage regimen design effective administration drug therapy monitoring services and supervision of the medication dispensing process in the Medical Center.
This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Employees in exempt positions are paid on a salary basis and are not eligible for overtime compensation. This classification is based on the duties and responsibilities of the role, which meet the criteria for the Professional exemption.
The anticipated schedule arrangement for the successful incumbent is 7 nights on, 7 nights off (Thursday-Wednesday).

_What You’ll Do:_
_· Deliver expert pharmacy support across 679 beds, on night shift (7 days on/7 days off, Thursday night through Wednesday night rotation)._
_· Train and become an expert on:_
+ _Inpatient Operations_
+ _Sterile and Non-Sterile Compounding Operations_
+ _Controlled Substances Operations_
+ _Triaging nursing and provider pharmacy services needs_
_· Gain additional exposure to direct clinical patient care, with flexibility to cover shifts as needed and based on skills and performance._
_· Participate in additional rotational night shift coverage_
_Beyond the Bench:_
_· Collaborate on protocol development, guideline updates, and departmental goals._
_· Ensure safe, effective medication use through order verification, regimen design, and therapy monitoring._
_· Partner with pharmacy leadership and medical staff to optimize patient care and drug therapies._

Minimum Qualifications
+ Education: Bachelor’s Degree
+ Experience: No experience required
+ Licensure/Certifications: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Education: PharmD Degree
+ Experience: Experience supporting operations in an Inpatient Pharmacy operations setting
+ Licensure/Certifications: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
**Physical Demands –** Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals.
Compensation
+ The pay rate for this role starts at $133,889.60 annually. New hire compensation will be determined by education and experience.
Onboarding Requirements
Background checks and pre-employment health screenings** will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a **drug screen.
Position Compensation Range: $115,793.60 - $185,265.60 Annual
