The Department of Fish and Game is seeking a Recreation Site Maintenance Foreman to maintainand developfishing and boating access sites and maintain regional Wildlife Management Area roads and access sites for our Upper Snake Region based in Idaho Falls.

Responsibilities:
+ Supervises and oversees a crew of one year round and 2-3 temporary employees primarily responsible for weekly site maintenance tasks and assisting with other projects.
+ Schedules work projects by visiting building and recreation sites to determine equipment and material needs.
+ Secures permits, obtains bids and purchases materials; inspects projects for conformance to specifications code compliance and American Disability Act standards.
+ Projects costs and provides budget input for construction projects.
+ Develops and monitors assigned budgets.
+ Reviews equipment and production reports, travel vouchers and other work records for completeness and accuracy. Prepares annual work plans and completion reports.

+ Facilitates/attends public meetings on recreation site development.
+ Supervises and performs activities related to building construction and repair, grounds development and maintenance, and equipment operation and maintenance, such as, building, remodeling and repairing structures, equipment, and furniture, parking areas, vault toilets, rock walls, sidewalks, fences, boat launches, and docks.
+ Operates and performs minor maintenance on equipment including trucks, dozers, telehandlers, excavators, graders, concrete mixers, welders, generators, chain saws, and small hand and power tools used in construction.
+ Determines replacement parts and orders supplies and equipment.
+ Works internally and with other governmental organizations to secure grant funding and submit necessary reports.
Minimum Qualifications: (These qualifications are required.)
+ Possess a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an air brake endorsement OR be willing to obtain one within 60 days of hire. The CDL must be retained through the duration of employment.
+ Valid Driver's license.
+ Considerable knowledge of construction methods, including reading blueprints and interpreting specifications, construction safety practices, and construction equipment and tools. (Typically gained by specific education and/or paid work experience of at least four years in residential or commercial construction as a worker or lead worker, which included reading blueprints and interpreting specifications, using a variety of construction equipment and tools, and practicing construction safety methods.
+ Experience with all phases of construction, including scheduling and supervising construction crews, projecting costs, purchasing materials, completing reports and records, and assuring compliance with state building codes. (Typically gained by at least two years of paid work experience in residential or commercial construction as a lead worker, or foreman with responsibility for direction of crews, review of work, and management of project.)
+ Experience performing carpentry, plumbing and electrical installation and repair, irrigation, sewer and well system installation and repair, and road-surface maintenance and repair. (Typically gained by at least two years of paid work experience in residential or commercial construction as a lead worker, or foreman with responsibility for direction of crews, review of work, and management of project.)
+ Experience operating and maintaining equipment associated with construction and building trades. (Typically gained by at least two years of experience operating various heavy equipment such as forklifts, loaders, backhoes, and dump trucks, and performing normal maintenance such as checking oil, water, fluids and basic servicing.)
Additional Information:
+ The successful candidate will be subject to pre-employment drug screening test.
+ The successful incumbent is also subject to drug and alcohol testing throughout duration of employment, including random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion testing, etc., in accordance with federal regulations.
+ The successful incumbent must, with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to walk rugged terrain, work in extreme weather conditions, lift and carry equipment weighing up to 60 pounds with occasional lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds for short distances.
The ideal candidate will have successfully completed training specifically covering grants or contracts monitoring or tracking and reporting or have experience monitoring or tracking grants or contracts and compiling status reports on grants or contracts. Additional consideration may be given at the time of interview to candidates who have this knowledge and/or experience.
