Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description
Coordinate and participate in the activities required for prototype and development jobs to ensure successful job runs within established cost targets and timelines. Activities include engineering drawings, routings, tool and fixture designs, setup books, work instructions, and inspection plans. Conduct manufacturing process reviews and development meetings to optimize designs before manufacturing runs.
Responsibilities
+ Identify and coordinate programming requirements, raw material purchases, and outside processes for prototype or development jobs.
+ Coordinate and participate in all initial and subsequent runs on the manufacturing floor with the development team until the process is repeatable and within cost targets.
+ Develop and maintain project plans to schedule all development jobs to manufacturing, achieving product quality objectives within established cost targets and optimized cycle times.
+ Provide regular communication on the status of project tasks and milestones to internal stakeholders.
+ Create and execute engineering change notices, process routers, drawings, inspection plans, and other written documentation.
+ Lead cross-functional departments in validating new products and processes according to customer and regulatory requirements.
+ Conduct project debrief meetings and analyze completed projects to compare quoted costs to actual costs.
+ Coordinate and execute necessary tasks to transition jobs from ‘Development’ to ‘Active’ status for future production.
+ Assist quoting team by providing methods, time estimates, and cost data to complete customer engineering support for the quality management system.
+ Participate in resolving customer complaints and conduct corrective and preventive action investigations.
+ Participate in other engineering activities, including the RCCA program.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ A B.S. in Engineering or equivalent is required.
+ At least three years of directly related engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably machining.
+ Expertise in CNC milling/turning/programming, EDM, design for Lean manufacturing, and/or fixture/tool design is highly preferred.
+ Proficiency with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
+ Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
+ Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
+ Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing with all levels of employees.
+ Extensive experience with SolidWorks, Microsoft Project, and the Microsoft Office suite.
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex drawings and documents for machined parts and assemblies.
+ Ability to write clear work instructions, manufacturing guidelines, generate blueprint drawings from SolidWorks, and tolerance drawings to ensure fit between multiple mating parts for optimized manufacturability.
+ Engineering database entry and maintenance of CWC ERP system.
+ Experience in an ISO certified or other regulated organization is highly preferred.
Work Environment
The role requires working in a manufacturing environment, coordinating development jobs to meet quality objectives. The position involves the use of technologies such as SolidWorks, Microsoft Project, and ERP systems. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valencia, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $53.00/hr.
