Overview
Adecco Staffing is currently recruiting for an experienced and detail-oriented **Docketing Legal Assistant** to join a respected law firm located in **Richmond, VA** .
This is an exciting **full-time, permanent opportunity** for a highly organized legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The Docketing Legal Assistant plays a critical role in managing the day-to-day tasks on **General District Court (GDC)** cases — from filing through trial or settlement — ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency at every step of the process.

Key Responsibilities
+ Work closely with courts and legal teams to move each case efficiently through the **GDC process** .
+ Draft pleadings and legal documents upon attorney request.
+ Communicate with court personnel and assist with continuances and scheduling.
+ Monitor and manage affidavits to counsel and track case deadlines.
+ Prepare and organize **Trial and Judge’s Binders** .
+ Review and manage case files to ensure compliance with **16.1-88.2** and related statutes.
+ Adhere to firm policies regarding client communication, case documentation, and use of case management systems.
+ Perform additional legal and administrative duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Education & Training
+ **High School Diploma or GED** required; **Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred** .
+ **Minimum 2 years of paralegal or legal assistant experience** , or an equivalent combination of skills and education.
+ Familiarity with **16.1-88.2** and related court procedures (preferred but not required).
+ Strong understanding of legal documentation, filing processes, and court interaction.
+ Excellent **verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills** .
+ Exceptional **attention to detail** , organizational, and **critical thinking** abilities.
+ Ability to **multi-task and work independently** in a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong **customer service orientation** and professional demeanor.
+ Proficiency in **Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)** , **PDF editing tools** , and general office software.
+ Experience with **Salesforce or Litify** preferred.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
+ Ability to **lift up to 25 lbs** unassisted.
+ Requires prolonged periods of **sitting, standing, and computer use** .
+ Visual capability to work from one or more computer monitors for extended periods.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment.
