    Job Title: Test Engineer

    Job Description

    The Test Engineer in the PS&P business unit ensures the quality of new products under development by confirming quality through product testing and specification activities. This role is pivotal in meeting customer requirements and maintaining high quality and customer satisfaction.

    Responsibilities

    + Confirm the quality of new products and components under development through product benchmarking against competitors and market testing.

    + Set targets using DA's and FTA to ensure guidelines, standards, and regulations are met.

    + Confirm customer requirements and quality with prototypes and pre-production samples.

    + Collect key data using equipment such as National Instruments, Instron, and Hioki.

    + Work in small project teams to meet development targets and schedules by ensuring testing milestones are achieved and coordinating resource needs.

    + Communicate project status and participate in or lead project meetings, discussions, and development events.

    + Generate and develop new ideas to improve competitiveness through competitor research and creating new product features and technologies.

    + Participate in market quality improvement themes, analyze root causes, and implement corrective measures to support recurrence prevention.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related field.

    + 0-5 years of engineering experience, preferably in Power Products or Powersports.

    + Strong ability to adapt to developing various CBU platforms.

    + Effective communication skills with staff and management.

    + Competency in test cell/bench concept and fabrication methods.

    + Confidentiality in operations.

    + Ability to complete test requirements and submit them for checking and completion.

    + Ability to create factory control point documents.

    + Competency in failure mode analysis.

    + Proficiency in DiAdem data analysis software or similar.

    + Proficiency in various data logging hardware/software (Hioki, National Instruments).

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, NC.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.47/hr.
