As a Controls Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the operational efficiency of our manufacturing plant. You will be at the forefront of ensuring that production equipment operates smoothly and efficiently, tackling breakdowns, and supporting maintenance and production teams. In addition to troubleshooting and programming PLCs and HMIs, you will contribute to capital projects aimed at continuous improvement and upgrades. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining safety and delivering high-quality products.
Responsibilities
+ Support plant operations to ensure equipment remains operational and efficient.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures, focusing on PLC editing and troubleshooting.
+ Act as a technical resource, providing support for safety and quality in product delivery.
+ Conduct root cause analysis for manufacturing issues and work closely with plant maintenance teams.
+ Develop, plan, and execute technical solutions, including creating equipment bills of materials and scopes of work.
+ Facilitate the implementation of electrical and control standards across manufacturing.
+ Commission and maintain manufacturing equipment, ensuring it meets required standards.
+ Collaborate with plant teams, engineers, and IT to solve problems and improve performance.
+ Maintain and improve systems that track safety, performance, and production data.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in supporting manufacturing process controls networks, infrastructure, and security systems.
+ Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills with electrical and control systems.
+ Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming, particularly Allen Bradley PLCs and FactoryTalk.
+ Experience in maintaining and configuring controls power distribution layouts and hardware.
+ Familiarity with designing control panels and power layouts.
+ Ability to perform preventative maintenance tasks on instrumentation and automation equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Food and Beverage.
+ Technical certification in automation or instrumentation is a plus.
+ Knowledge of automation equipment like Rslogix, Autocad, Siemens PLC, and Rockwell.
+ Proficiency in electrical design and schematic creation.
+ Experience with ladder logic and AutoCAD Electrical.
Work Environment
This role is set within a dynamic manufacturing environment, where you will experience varying and colder temperatures. You will split your time between the office and the production floor, with occasional travel between locations. The position offers 2-3 weeks of PTO based on experience, along with sick time benefits. You will be integral to keeping production systems running smoothly and supporting the technology in our factories.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sunnyside, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
