Hiring for an Engineering Technician in East Hartford!
Job Description
As an Engineering Technician, you will support engineers in HSE durability analytics, ensuring the integrity of parts in the hottest section of the engine. This multifaceted role encompasses technician work, project management, and engineering tasks.
Responsibilities
+ Become a technical expert on inspection practices using handheld devices for photography and magnetoscope inspection, digital annotation via web-based tools, and airflow bench operations with integrated computers.
+ Follow proper standard work procedures, including selecting appropriate tools and fixtures, setting up benches correctly, and documenting values in formatted templates.
+ Work on special projects not covered within the O/S SOW and order supplies for Crib & D-Bldg team members.
+ Oversee the O/S team by providing technical expertise, monitoring workflow prioritization, and ensuring quality standards are met.
+ Foster effective communication between HSE, MPE, CPR, and outsource vendors using MS Outlook/Teams and interact with the CPR database (LotusNotes).
+ Submit work requests to MPE (Granta) and update and maintain standard work for inspection practices.
+ Drive continuous improvement of inspection practices and troubleshoot issues with inspection bench equipment.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data documentation.
+ Experience in troubleshooting, mechanical assembly, and part inspection.
+ Possession of an Associate Degree from a technical college.
+ 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing setting.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
+ Strong soft skills in project management are highly valued.
Work Environment
The team operates full-time onsite at the East Hartford campus, with a dynamic and constantly changing priority list. The environment is structured and process-driven, offering opportunities for permanent positions and significant contributions to flight safety and aerospace advancements.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Hartford, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
