Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional to provide onsite technical support and configuration management services. This role involves managing IT assets, supporting software testing, and maintaining configuration baselines using automated tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT systems, inventory control, and process improvement frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Provide advanced onsite technical support to end users, resolving hardware and software issues efficiently.

+ Manage IT asset inventory, including tracking, refurbishing, and redeploying refreshed equipment.

+ Assist with software testing and log results into database systems.

+ Maintain software and documentation baselines using automated Configuration Management (CM) tools.

+ Define and implement CM processes and procedures across the product lifecycle.

+ Coordinate product releases and updates, ensuring proper version control and documentation.

+ Participate in Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings to evaluate and approve changes.

+ Develop and maintain build automation tools; streamline build and deployment processes.

+ Track and report software deficiencies, change requests, and incident reports.

+ Maintain project documentation libraries and software development folders.

+ Provide performance metrics and benchmarking data to support management decisions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

+ 1–3 years of experience in IT systems or application development.

+ Familiarity with process improvement frameworks such as CMMI or ITIL is preferred.

+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

+ Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
