Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. This is a Contract-to-permanent position within a growing startup environment that values collaboration and innovation. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the company’s expansion into new markets.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are properly documented.

• Prepare and post journal entries while adhering to company policies and accounting standards.

• Conduct account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure proper cash management processes.

• Analyze financial data to support decision-making and provide insights to leadership.

• Collaborate with team members to improve accounting procedures and systems.

• Assist with financial reporting requirements and audits as needed.

• Support the company’s growth by managing accounting tasks related to retail expansion.

• Utilize Xero or similar accounting software efficiently to streamline operations. Requirements

• Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on month-end close and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in general ledger maintenance and journal entry preparation.

• Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting software such as QuickBooks.

• Background in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is a must have.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
