• Civil Engineering Intern - Transportation - Summer

    The engineering intern experience at Jacobs will provide engineering students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in Transportation Engineering. Interns will work alongside world-class professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting which provides students invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment.

     

    The candidate would be exposed to tasks specific to Transportation Engineering with a focus in Highway and/or Water Resources Engineering.

    Typical work tasks include:

    * Perform calculations and evaluations in the design of solutions and systems for public infrastructure applications

    * Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for use during construction

    * Use of computer-aided engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Collects and prepares data for evaluation

    * Plan Development

    * Assisting in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations

    * Providing support to engineering staff members as needed

    * Currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field

    * Knowledge of MicroStation (primary software) or AutoCAD preferred

    * Working knowledge of Word and Excel is required
