Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
The machine operator is responsible for performing advanced production activities on all types of saws including vertical and horizontal. This role requires reviewing work orders, tooling instructions, and other written specifications, as well as choosing the correct material for each job according to the work order.
Responsibilities
+ Position work pieces for processing and operate a combination of different saws.
+ Determine processing specifications such as materials, location of cuts, sizes, surface conditions, material defects, dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences.
+ Install and align specified cutting blades or other fixtures using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, or hand tools.
+ Adjust controls to set cutting speed, depth, and feed rates.
+ Operate saws during processing as required based on workload or business needs.
+ Measure and examine pieces using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
+ Perform in-process quality inspections and quality control inspections on finished products per AS 9100 standards.
+ Clean equipment according to designated maintenance procedures.
+ Diagnose problems, make necessary adjustments, and remove scrap from machines.
+ Coordinate and execute material handling.
+ Complete work order paperwork and documentation.
+ Restock material and mark identification on materials/work pieces before and after processing.
+ Ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
+ Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 1 year of machine operation experience
+ 1 year of warehouse experience
+ Proficiency in machine and saw operation
+ Material handling expertise
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ High School diploma/GED preferred
+ Experience in warehousing and material handling preferred
+ Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting saws preferred
+ Experience with overhead crane operation preferred
+ Manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination
+ Ability to read and comprehend written instructions
+ Basic measurement skills and arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions
+ Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of software applications
+ Multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management skills
+ Sound decision-making based on knowledge, experience, and judgment
+ Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively

Work Environment
The work environment is a non-climate-controlled warehouse setting with aerospace quality standards. The hours are from 1pm to 9:30pm, Monday through Friday, with initial training during the day shift before transitioning to the swing shift starting at the beginning of 2026.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fife, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
