Job Description

Join our team as a production worker in a dynamic cheese manufacturing facility. This role demands physical strength and the ability to work in a cool environment, as you will be handling blocks of cheese on a conveyor belt. Candidates must be flexible to work in various departments and adapt to different tasks as needed. The shift is: Monday - Thursday (6am-4:45pm).

Responsibilities

+ Handle and place blocks of cheese on a conveyor belt in the production department.

+ Work in a cooler environment at 35 degrees where finished products are stored.

+ Cross-train in multiple departments, including manufacturing, to mix unflavored cheese blocks with various cheeses.

+ Participate in the sanitation process at the end of each shift, which involves cleaning the entire factory.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ years of experience in a warehouse or production environment.

+ Ability to lift 45lbs over 50 times a day.

+ Willingness to cross-train in multiple departments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in a food production facility is highly preferred.

+ Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.

+ Experience in physically demanding roles is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is a very clean food plant with approximately 15 workers on the production floor. The facility has a distinct cheese aroma, and candidates sensitive to smell may not find it suitable. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) including hair nets, beard nets, safety glasses, ear plugs, coats, and steel-toed shoes are required and provided. Expect to get wet during the thorough cleaning process at the end of each shift, with waterproof shoe covers and coats supplied. Work hours are from 6 am to 4:45 pm, Monday through Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays during busy periods.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hummelstown, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $19.75/hr.
