Job Title: Quality Supervisor

Job Description

The Quality Control Supervisor in metal fabrication plays a crucial role in managing quality control inspectors and overseeing quality inspection activities to ensure high standards in production processes.

Responsibilities

+ Prevent problems by working with engineers and other team members to ensure designs meet standards and tolerances.

+ Conduct inspections on samples from new production runs to validate accuracy.

+ Maintain detailed records and reports of measurements, defects, and deviations.

+ Identify non-conformances and work with teams to address issues.

+ Participate in root cause analysis and suggest corrective actions.

+ Help develop and update inspection procedures and standards.

+ Collaborate with teams to resolve issues and provide guidance to operators.

+ Ensure subcontractors meet quality standards.

+ Ensure products are properly marked and identified, stored to prevent damage, and securely blocked for shipping.

Essential Skills

+ Over 5 years of experience in quality supervision.

+ Proficiency in reading and explaining blueprints.

+ Working knowledge of using a tape measure, calipers, gauges, micrometers, and rulers.

+ Experience working within steel fabrication, assembly, or machining departments.

+ Experience in quality control, root cause analysis, quality metrics, MSA creation and review, PFMEA, and MQC review and compliance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Responsible for customer relations.

+ Supervise over 10 team members in the day-to-day operations of quality inspection and monitoring.

+ Train team members on quality objectives, procedures, and goals.

+ Conduct daily MRB review with production staff.

+ Handle SAP movements and tracking of nonconforming material.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of North Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $73000.00/yr.
