    Job Description

    A Material Handling Associate is required to be cross-trained on multiple job tasks within the warehouse. This includes loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials, driving forklift, and recording accurate data in a database or spreadsheet. The successful candidate must be able to work successfully and flex to different areas, read and follow work instructions, meet all quality standards, have an excellent safety record, and meet all attendance requirements.

    Responsibilities

    + Use sit-down forklift to unload trucks and stack shelves.

    + Perform full Material Handler/Picker responsibilities.

    + Use a pick sheet to identify items on shelves and stack product on pallets for shipment.

    + Use a scan gun to scan items.

    + Aid in cleanup and upkeep of the warehouse.

    + Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.

    + Move controls to drive vehicles and transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.

    + Operate lifting devices such as forklifts and hoists to load, unload, transport, and stack material.

    + Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids, and boxes and secure materials or products for transport to designated areas.

    Essential Skills

    + Forklift operation

    + Material handling

    + Picking and packing

    + Use of pallet jack

    + At least two years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or service environment

    + Good attendance record

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or GED required

    + Forklift operator's license may be required

    + Attention to detail

    + Team player and problem-solving skills

    + Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods

    Work Environment

     

    Indoor and outdoor work environment since unloading trucks will be required. This is a first shift opportunity from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime during the week and sometimes on Saturday. Overtime is not guaranteed, but it has been available for employees lately. The ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally, is essential. Mobility within the work facility is required. The ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs occasionally, 15 lbs repetitively, or 10 lbs continuously from floor to waist high for more than 2/3 of the work shift. Ability to lift/carry up to 35 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs repetitively, or 10 lbs continuously from waist to shoulder height for more than 2/3 of the work shift. Reach over the head repetitively for more than 2/3 of the work shift. Grip and pinch with hands and fingers repetitively, using fine motor dexterity and eye-hand coordination, for more than 2/3 of the work shift. Stand continuously for up to three hours at a time. Bend, twist, squat, kneel, and/or stoop repetitively for more than 2/3 of the work shift. Walk and climb stairs occasionally for more than 2/3 of the work shift.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waco, TX.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $17.60 - $17.60/hr.
