    Job Summary

    This summer internship will work in the Distribution Standards group. This group evaluates all materials used on the distribution system. The intern will work with a group of experienced engineers on analysis and performance of a variety of materials. Some may be new materials from vendors that will be tested to ensure they meet our requirements to be approved. The intern will also work to perform root cause analysis on materials where failures have occurred. They will also work to review concerns from field employees on applicability of some products and suggest improvements. This will involve some office and some field work along with work in our lab/material recovery and repair center.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

    + Pursuing a 4-year ABET Engineering Required, Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Preferred

    + Must be a (rising junior) 2027, (rising sophomore) 2028

    + Min of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

    + Experience with Microsoft Office products is desired.

    + Must be able to follow instructions and be a team player.

    + Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Solid engineering skills, commensurate with grade level.

    + Good communication skills, technical writing skills, and computer skills.

    + An inquisitive nature, an ability to follow written and verbal directions, and strong professional ethics.

    Education Requirements
