    Reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Logistics for Solstice Advanced Materials, you will play a crucial role in leading and optimizing logistics transportation, services and asset costs across our global network. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement projects such as development and launch of a globally scalable freight audit, pay and accrual system, managing logistics productivity (cost savings) initiatives, lead our Annual Operating Plan (AOP) budgeting process and ensuring data analytics for transportation, warehousing, logistics services (such as maintenance) and assets (railcars, ISO containers and cylinders) are both actionable and aligned with our spend plans.

     

    This strategic and highly financially technical opportunity focused on logistics operations - will develop cost capture coding, rollup, robust accrual logic, budgeting, fixed vs variable cost modelling, cost benchmarks, perform deep-dive data analytics, KPI metrics capture, service constraints and scenario analysis.     The successful candidate must be a initiative-taker, detailed and data oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, able to collaborate, lead cross functionally and possess a demonstrated track record of achieving operational cost excellence. In addition, the candidate must be able to operate in a highly matrixed environment, communicate with all levels of the organization, influence, and gain commitment.

     

    This opportunity will be based out of our **Spokane, WA** location on a hybrid work schedule.

     

    Travel requirements 10%

    Responsibilities

    + Partner with internal stakeholders such as logistics, planning, plant operations, procurement, finance, AP, compliance and external providers such as our carrier base and managed service providers to capture logistical operational execution and properly align to costs.

    + Be a financial technical SME with Excel including solver, financial modeling, simulation, pivot tables, VBA, macros, advanced formulas, charting, data power query, tables and formatting as well as SAP SME for FI, AP, TM and FA&BP modules including mapping and table maintenance. BI tool experience also critical for the successful candidate.

    + Lead logistics budgeting plan and productivity tracking; drive relevant KPI’s with team.

    + Develop and evolve the current fragmented cost model to a scalable solution accounting for future volume growth and mix complexities.

    + Lead efforts to implement a unified FA&BP platform, identifying and selecting best-of-breed solution tied to ROI justification.

    + Role will cross-over to include operational auditing and compliance adherence to tariff to help drive additional cost savings.

    + Provide PFA (Premium Freight Authorization) oversight from a logistics perspective.

    Qualifications

    YOU MUST HAVE

    + Minimum 15 years of experience in transportation, logistics operations or SCM - focused on logistics cost management and accounting.

    + 10 years of Freight Audit, Pay and Accrual experience.

    + Strong operational knowledge of transportation, warehousing, services, assets and inventory management.

    WE VALUE

    + Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, logistics or supply chain management

    + SAP SME for Cost Accounting, Finance and Logistics processes – opex, capex, COGS and budgeting vs actual.

    + Expert background in logistics finance tied to a strong understanding of transportation operations – all modes, industry cost trends and market dynamics.

    + Strong excel and BI skill set.

    + SME in Freight Audit and Bill Pay (FA&BP) and previous implementation experience required.

    + Experience with designing and implementing Logistics Cost Excellence KPI’s.

    + The ability to explain logistics costs, drivers and forecast to a non-logistics audience clearly and effectively, must display excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.

    + Inquisitive, personable, continuous improvement focused, meticulous, data driven, organized, scrappy, flexible - able to pivot according to business needs, pragmatic, calculated risk taker with a strategic mindset and vision for scaling solutions to meet future needs.

    + Previous experience with SAP IDB iDoc’s and TMS implementation tied to ERP system re: SAP highly desirable.

    + Previous transportation, warehousing, assets and services commercial relationship and contract experience immensely helpful.

    + Previous experience with cost data mapping and regression testing related to a TMS/SAP integration project is desirable.

    + Ability to operate in a fast paced and global complex, multi-cultural and matrix environment.

    + Experience with value stream mapping

    + Background working in both a traditional and startup type environment preferred.

    + Experience in the chemical industry is a plus.

    The annual base salary range for this position is $161,000 - 201,000 for Spokane, WA. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
