Management position to work 2 days/week over 12 month period. Job Overview
The Facilities Manager primary responsibilities are construction project management, facility management and agency distribution systems. Manage operations of the Agency including: custodial, security, maintenance, distribution services, and construction projects. A focus on efficiency and effectiveness of processes is crucial. Optimize facility space allocation, warehouse storage and long range facility maintenance through effective resource management.
Qualifications
+ Minimum of five (5) years combined experience in operations, facilities, project, or warehouse/distribution systems management.
+ Bachelor’s degree in operations, facility, warehouse or distribution management, or similar field is preferred.
+ Ability to use industrial equipment, consisting of but not limited to forklift, ladders, dollies, scaffolding, pallet jacks, and ability to use standard office equipment including computers.
+ Physical demands of position include moderate walking, standing, and/or climbing ability to lift and carry 75 pounds without assistance, stooping, bending and reaching.
+ Must be able to travel between Agency offices and other work sites.
+ A background check is a condition of employment.
Job Functions
+ Develops and maintains an expandable, comprehensive maintenance and preventative maintenance programs to ensure smooth Agency operation. Train team members and provide leadership in establishing realistic goals, and inspect work to insure compliance with specification and expectations.
+ Analyzes building conditions and assigned building management resources and prepares reports setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations and conclusions; advise other administrative officials regarding building conditions and utilizations as affected by repair, maintenance and/or enhancement activities.
+ Secures and coordinates related services with appropriate departments or outside organizations including but not limited to, housekeeping-ventilation-air conditioning, structural and cosmetic repairs, and maintenance of safety features; solicit proposals and/or bids from alternative service providers appropriate and make recommendations for optimal selection. Determines priorities for the enhancement, repair and modification of building facilities and equipment; develop plans for enhancement as well as ongoing and preventive maintenance of facilities.
+ Oversees building automated systems including HVAC and lighting controls, fire and sprinkler systems (fire systems include sprinklers and all other suppression systems including extinguishers), and security systems.
+ Coordinates operations and maintenance efforts to ensure efficient energy use and conservation.
+ Schedules, supervises, and monitors construction contractors and subcontractors.
+ Interface with agency staff and vendors ensuring effective communications regarding status and priority of work.
+ Prepares, updates, and implements plans for response to and recovery from emergency and disaster conditions as pertaining to assigned building(s); lead and participate in implementation of emergency plans in appropriate situations.
+ Provides oversight of Agency grounds and janitorial maintenance.
+ Supervises central warehouse, distribution, inventory systems, and disposition of surplus property.
+ Supervises and coordinates activities of facility maintenance, facility custodial, and warehouse/distributions workers.
+ Reviews operational procedures and recommends changes to management.
+ Interviews employee candidates and makes staffing recommendations.
+ Evaluates staff in accordance with agency guidelines.
+ Ensures a safe work environment through training, supervision, identification of hazards and enforcement of OSHA and EPA requirements.
+ Assists in the development of department budgets.
+ Responsible for the care, handling, and storage of materials.
+ Coordinates special projects.
+ Responsible for professional development to stay informed with trends and developments in the operations/facilities field .
+ Demonstrates cultural competence and behaviors consistent with the core values, vision and mission.
+ Other duties as assigned.
