What You’ll Be Doing:

+ Install, splice, test, and maintain underground fiber optic cables across various environments.

+ Operate jetting equipment, such as the Minijet, to deploy fiber using compressed air through microducts.

+ Read and interpret construction drawings, fiber schematics, and route maps.

+ Conduct site surveys and prepare for fiber deployment.

+ Document fiber routes, splice points, and test results.

+ Troubleshoot fiber issues using OTDR and other diagnostic tools.

+ Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fellow technicians to meet deadlines.

+ Follow safety protocols and industry standards throughout all phases of work.

• What You Bring:

+ 2+ years of experience in fiber optic installation or telecom fieldwork.

+ Skilled with fusion splicers, OTDRs, power meters, and jetting systems (especially the Minijet).

+ Strong understanding of OSP construction practices.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors.

+ Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Bonus Skills:

+ Fiber optic certifications (FOA CFOT, ETA).

+ Experience with GIS mapping and digital documentation.

+ Familiarity with permitting and utility coordination.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Graniteville, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
