    Medical Scheduler – On-site | Columbia, MD

     

    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

    Placement Type: Contract-to-Hire (4 months)

    Pay Range: $15.00 – $18.00/hour

     

    Interview Format: In-person with Practice Manager and Call Center Supervisor

     

    Start Date: November 17, 2025

    About the Role:

    We are seeking two Medical Schedulers to join a fast-paced healthcare environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong customer service skills and healthcare experience to contribute to a close-knit team in a newly renovated office.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Schedule and reschedule patient appointments

    + Handle high-volume inbound calls (60–100 daily)

    + Assist with patient registration, insurance verification, billing, and collections

    + Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance

    + Support front desk operations including check-in/check-out

    + Route patient inquiries to appropriate providers

    + Provide prescription refill and referral support

    + Collaborate with office staff and maintain excellent customer service

    Required Skills & Experience:

    + Strong communication and customer service skills

    + Familiarity with medical terminology and scheduling practices

    + Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume call center environment

    + Fast typing and computer proficiency

    + Experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred)

    + Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is acceptable

    Preferred Skills:

    + Knowledge of EMR systems

    + Understanding of insurance procedures

    + Prior call center experience in a healthcare setting

    Work Environment:

    + Office-based role with regular interaction with patients, staff, and visitors

    + Requires sitting, standing, stretching, and use of standard office equipment

    + Headsets or handheld phones provided based on preference

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00/hr.
