    Job Summary

    The Intralogistics Solutions Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day management of on-site assigned projects and/or work orders to ensure they are being performed in accordance with existing company policies and procedures. This position assists in the achievement of their divisions goals and objectives while operating within company guidelines.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform any other duties as assigned or required.

    • Actively manages safety, scope, quality, time schedule, budget, risks, and opportunities for the projects in area of responsibility.

    • Directly responsible for leadership, management, and supervision of the installation projects.

    • Plans, organizes, and directs large complex projects.

    • Travel requirements, 80% as required (home on weekends).

    • Must be able to make quick decisions on complex project issues and provide follow through.

    • Responsible for reviewing project documents, plans and specifications, directing installation activities, resolving construction difficulties, coordinating field installations, project close-outs, and developing and/or maintaining customer/client relationships.

    • Comprehensive understanding of drawings, mark & unit summaries and installation standards.

    • Lay out project work and ensure that materials, tools, equipment, etc. are scheduled in a timely manner to meet scope, budget, and project construction schedules.

    • All responsibilities to be accomplished within standard operating procedures, project costs, time constraints, and quality standards.

    • Performs regular performance evaluations of resources to support the development of individuals reporting to the Resource Team.

    • Weekly Responsibilities:

    o Regular Safety Audit reviews

    o Review Status and Staffing weekly, adjust manpower plan accordingly

    o Review Quality on a weekly cadence (Punch List Elimination)

    o Attend Quality meetings weekly

    o Establish High Quality within the work teams

    o Designate Quality Owners on each site and assign site responsibility

    o Establish Project Plans at time of project turnover

    o Maintain Project Plans throughout the project lifecycle, monitor and alter the plan based on earned value status

    o Drive the onsite Teams, supporting the on-site project needs

    o Support the Resource Team with resource feedback

    • Assists with routine equipment trial runs to ensure that it meets specifications and ensure equipment is installed to company standards.

    • Provide additional assistance with training of subcontractors in the installation of equipment.

    • Provides direction for all installation site personnel.

    • Provides guidance and direction for daily Site Coordinator activities.

    • Support Change Management and department initiatives

    o Familiarity with SQDCP boards and standards:

    o Safety - provide overall project safety leadership.

    o Quality – Focuses on high quality installations – install right the first time

    o Delivery – Plan & Manage installation schedule in collaboration with Project Manager

    o Cost – Provide monthly reporting including defects/issues

    o People – Actively manage project resources

    • All other duties as assigned or required.

    Requirements

    All potential hires are subject to pre-employment checks which include but are not limited to background checks, drug screenings, and motor vehicle record checks.

     

    • Assertive and outgoing – Will get productively involved with others, motivates as required

    • OSHA training or certificate preferred

    • Physically able to traverse construction site environments

    • Working experience with material handling equipment preferred, but not required.

    • Must be willing to travel and spend up to 80% of the time traveling in the Southeast (NC, SC, GA, AL)

    • Must be able to act calmly in stressful situations

    • Must be able to write concise, clear, and complete trip reports in the time frame required according to company policies and procedures

    • Must have knowledge in the use of personal computers, data base functions and communications.

    • Understanding personal computer hardware setup and software configuration required.

    • High School or equivalent experience required

    • Strong leadership skills; Strong planning and coordination skills with attention to detail

    • MS Word and Excel experience required

    • Proficient in Microsoft Power Point and able to navigate MS Project

    • Project Management Training or knowledge of Project Management Methodologies

    • Knowledge of Lean Guiding Principles (TIMWOOD- Transportation, Inventory, Motion, Waiting, Overproduction, Overprocessing and Defects)

    Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

     

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job unless it causes undue hardship.

     

    This position is classified as medium work, involving the operation of motor vehicles and heavy equipment, as well as movement to complete tasks or transition between work sites. Physical demands include the ability to frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity is necessary for equipment operation, computer use, writing, and handling materials. Clear articulation and voice control are essential for effective communication with both internal and external customers via telephone. Specific vision abilities essential for this role include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

     

    This role entails working in a dynamic environment, encompassing both office-based tasks and visits to customer sites, involving regular interaction with internal and external customers. Travel to customer locations for sales calls and presentations is a requirement, potentially exposing the individual to diverse environments, including the risk of encountering harmful or corrosive chemicals if proper safety protocols are not followed. Additionally, the role often involves exposure to various outdoor weather conditions. The individual in this position must adeptly manage strict deadlines, shifting priorities, and a high volume of information flow while consistently upholding professionalism. Standard office equipment such as laptops and smartphones are routinely utilized, and noise levels typically range from moderate to high.

     

    Travel Requirements: Daily/Weekly travel to customer sites is required; travel may be required based on the location and scope of the project, for meetings and/or conferences. Overnight travel at short notice may be required.
