    The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in Syracuse University is seeking an individual to teach COM-NY 509.50 Communications Law for Public Communicators located at our NYC Campus on Wednesdays 6:00pm-9:00PM Spring 2026 Semester (3 credits). This position will start January 12, 2026. Final grades are due May 11, 2026.

     

    Course Description: The course covers the First Amendment; systems of media regulation; corporate speech and election-related speech; commercial speech (advertising regulation); defamation; privacy; access to places, documents and meetings; reporter/source confidentiality; and intellectual property.

     

    This position is located at the Fisher Center, Syracuse University’s consolidated academic campus at 136 Madison Avenue, NY, NY. The expected salary range for this position is $1,700 per credit hour.
