We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staffing Coordinator to help ensure our care teams are staffed effectively to meet our residents’ needs.
Position Summary
The Staffing Coordinator plays a critical role in managing the scheduling and staffing needs of nursing and support staff, ensuring seamless coverage to deliver excellent care. This position requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and a deep understanding of the unique demands of a long-term care facility.
Key Responsibilities
+ Coordinate daily and weekly staff schedules for nursing assistants, LPNs, RNs, CNAs and other care team members.
+ Monitor staffing levels and fill gaps due to absences, callouts, or increased resident needs.
+ Collaborate with nursing supervisors and department heads to forecast staffing needs.
+ Maintain accurate records of employee availability, shift changes, and time-off requests.
+ Communicate schedule changes promptly to staff via phone, email, or scheduling software.
+ Ensure compliance with labor laws, union contracts, and facility policies regarding work hours and breaks.
+ Assist in onboarding new nursing staff and maintaining personnel records.
+ Prepare and submit staffing reports for management review.
+ Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to staffing processes.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED required, associate’s degree or higher in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
+ Experience in healthcare staffing, preferably in a long-term care or nursing home environment.
+ Familiarity with scheduling software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
+ Ability to work under pressure and manage last-minute staffing changes.
+ Knowledge of nursing home regulations and labor laws is a plus.
+ CNA License required.
