Position: 00005982 - Administrative Assistant to the Dean
Grade: 2ND
Hiring Range: $30.85/hr to $38.57/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience
Expected start date in January 2026.
This position provides administrative support to the Dean to include responsibility for managing and maintaining the calendar, scheduling and coordinating appointments, events and meetings, serving as a liaison with internal and external constituencies and the organization of data, reports and other meeting materials and information either personally prepared or received from others. He/she handles confidential information and situations requiring the attention of the Dean. The incumbent also prepares correspondence and other documentation and makes travel arrangements.
Prioritizes competing issues to determine which items require a response from the Dean or other faculty or staff. Serves as an information source to visitors and callers using his/her judgment, knowledge of office operations and interpretation skills. Refers issues to appropriate sources as needed.
Requirements
+ Two years of college level work or equivalent education and experience required.
+ Minimum of five years of increasingly complex administrative support experience including some experience working for a high-level administrator.
+ Prefer prior experience coordinating office events and special projects as well as higher education experience.
+ Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
+ Demonstrated organizational skills along with the ability to prioritize the workload.
+ Possesses a high degree of discretion, judgment and diplomacy.
+ Attention to detail and analytical skills
+ Ability to organize, handle and secure confidential records and confidential data.
