Amergis is seeking passionate and qualified Special Education Teachers to support students across all grade levels in Escambia County Schools, Alabama. This role includes working in self-contained classrooms with a strong emphasis on resource-based instruction, helping students with diverse learning needs thrive in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

+ Deliver individualized instruction in self-contained and resource settings

+ Collaborate with general education staff to promote inclusive learning practices

+ Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs

+ Communicate regularly with families and school teams

+ Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to support growth

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (Psychology or Sociology majors preferred if not certified)

+ Valid Alabama Teaching Certificate in Special Education (Elementary, Secondary, or both)

+ OR eligibility for an Alternative Special Education Certificate in Alabama

+ Preferred endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1)

+ Minimum 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be 18 years or older

+ CPR Certification, TB screening, and Health Certificate (if applicable)
