QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High school diploma/GED and at least one of the following:
+ Completed 60 credit hours at an institution of higher education
+ Obtained an associate’s degree (or higher)
+ Passed a paraprofessional academic assessment test
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: To assist the classroom teacher in effectively using all appropriate resources to improve the learning environment for students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Assist in developing behavior modification programs for students.
+ Work intensively on a one-to-one basis with students.
+ Assist in maintaining records of students assigned to the multi-age classroom.
+ Assist in follow-up of students with home visits.
+ Maintain and provide tutoring for students.
+ Reinforce instructional activities with students as prescribed by the teacher.
+ Resolve conflicts and remedy potential problems involving staff and students smoothly, promptly, efficiently, effectively, and as justly and consistently as possible.
+ Provide appropriate training and maintain ongoing support services for parents.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary Range: Range 3 – Support Staff Hourly Salary ($12.04/hr. - $21.32/hr. depending on relevant experience)
Length of Contract: 178 contract days, 7.5 hrs/day
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Personnel Status: Classified

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated according to provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
