Job Description Summary

**Position:** The Department of Business Analytics and Information Systems within Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the Full Professor level beginning August 2026. This nine-month position is designed to support the College’s Business Analytics and Information Systems degree programs.

**Responsibilities:** Successful applicants are expected to engage in high-quality and impactful research publishable in top-tier journals, to achieve teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to provide appropriate service to the department, college, and university. The teaching load is commensurate with research expectations. In addition, candidates are expected to contribute to the collegial and intellectual environment of the department by working with other faculty members, advising Ph.D. students, and participating in service-related activities.

**About the Department & Programs:** The Department of Business Analytics and Information Systems at the Harbert College of Business is home to the nationally ranked undergraduate program in Business Analytics and a thriving undergraduate, master’s, and PhD program in Information Systems. The department also offers graduate certificates in Information Systems, Cyber Security Management, and Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. The faculty supporting these programs consists of an Eminent Scholar and fifteen additional tenure track faculty, five lecturers, two professors of practice, and one person dedicated to the professional development of business analytics and management information systems students. Our faculty have varied research interests and publish in top-tier journals, such as _Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Production and Operations Management, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, Marketing Science and European Journal of Information Systems._ The department houses advanced computing infrastructure to support high-performance computing through the Business Analytics lab, the Virtual Reality lab, and the state-of-the-art Data Immersion lab. **Responsibilities** : Successful applicants will be expected to engage in high-quality research (evidenced by publications in FT 50/UTD 24 journals), teach courses in the Information Systems or Business Analytics program, advise doctoral students, engage in departmental initiatives, and contribute to developing the future path for the department’s growing programs.

Minimum Qualifications

**Qualifications:** Applicants must possess a doctorate from anAACSB -accredited institution in Information Systems, Management Science, Business Analytics, Operations Management or a closely related field when employment begins. Evidence of exceptional scholarship and a consistent commitment to establishing a high-quality scholarship record is required. Applicants must have a research record that would be tenurable based on departmental guidelines and journal list. Excellent instructional capabilities and history are necessary, as are excellent written, organizational, and communication skills. We greatly value our collegial and collaborative culture and look to build upon that strength. Selected candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the duration of employment.
