Murrey’s, a division of Waste Connections, is hiring a Preventative Maintenance Technician to support our fleet operations in Fife, Washington.
This is an intermediate-level opportunity designed to grow into a Diesel Mechanic role, but it’s physically demanding — you’ll be working on garbage trucks, lifting over 50 pounds unassisted, and dealing with dirty, greasy, and sometimes unpleasant materials.
Schedule:
+ Monday to Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
+ Overtime: 3–10 hours/week on average
Compensation & Perks:
+ **Base Pay:** $29.00 – $30.25/hour
+ **Shift Differential:** +$1.50/hour
+ **CDL Premium:** +$1.00/hour for CDL holders
+ **Tool Allowance:** $125/month
+ **Annual Boot Voucher**
+ **Uniforms Provided**

Key Responsibilities:
+ Performpreventative maintenanceon garbage trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
+ Usefleet maintenance softwareto manage service records
+ Conductsafety inspectionsand maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant shop
+ Collaborate with drivers to identify and resolve vehicle issues
+ Complete repairs based on DriverVehicle InspectionReports (DVIRs)
Qualifications:
+ At least two years of hands-on experience performingpreventative maintenancein a professional environment
+ Background in commercial vehicle ordiesel engine maintenanceis highly desirable
+ Must hold avalid driver’s license
+ Required to have a personal set of basic tools and a toolbox
+ Comfortable using computers anddiagnostic softwarefor troubleshooting and maintenance
+ Brings a strongwork ethic, apositive mindset, and a willingness to learn and grow in the role
