    Shipboard Applications Analyst

     

    Opportunity

     

    The Shipboard Applications Analyst provides development and support of custom and third-party marine applications used across Maersk Line, Limited's fleet of vessels. The role is responsible for maintaining, improving, and upgrading MLL’s suite of marine applications, as well as addressing and responding to mariner requests and other support issues. The Shipboard Applications Analyst will plan, analyze, and test functional changes in response to an evolving business environment, occupying a central role in all matters relating to MLL’s portfolio of marine applications, including implementation of new solutions and enhancements to current solutions.

    Key** **Responsibilities** **:

    + Develop, test, deploy, and maintain custom softwareapplications

    + Develop technical and end-user support documentation to increase and improve application functionality/maintainability

    + Develop and execute application testscripting

    + Provide technical and functional training asneeded

    + Manage and provide support for assigned softwarepackages

    + Document technical requirements as needed to respond to and resolve end-usertickets.

    + Incorporate robust end-user security within MLL marineapplications

    + Plan and execute end-to-end testing, issue troubleshooting/application data analysis and root cause determinations

    + Meet with decision makers, system owners, and end users to define functional and technical requirements; identify and resolve system issues

    + Act as liaison between MLL and softwarevendors

    + Supports commitment to safety and other selected company standards andcertifications

    + Performs other position related duties as specified bymanagement

    Position** **Specifications** **:

    + Education andExperience:

    + College degree plus 4 years’ related work experience or a minimum of 8 years’ related work experience.

    + Programming and/or scripting skillsrequired

    + Power BI creation and maintenance proficiency aplus.

    + Demonstrated proficiency supporting both software applications and underlying technical infrastructure

    + Knowledge of Microsoft Server OS 2019 orlater.

    + Demonstrated competence with MS OfficeApplications.

    + DBA experience, with a background with MS SQL Server and/or Sybase SQL Anywhere a plus.

    + Familiarity with Microsoft SSRS andSSIS.

    + Familiarity with Microsoft web server IIS, configuration andmaintenance.

    + Demonstrated experience developing test plans, test scenarios and test execution on enterprise systems.

    + Programming skills in ASP.NET, C#.NET, Angular, andPowershell.

    + Competence with Visual Studio Professional and VSCode.

    + Web application development aplus.

    + Technical writing and documentationexperience

    + Technical Skills and CompetenciesRequired

    + Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication that is clear, well-organized, and demonstrates an understanding of audience needs

    + An effective team player who contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitments

    + Able to keep up in the MLL environment by facing tasks and challenges with energy and passion

    + Pursues activities with focus and drive, defines work in terms of success, and can be counted on to complete goals

    + Adherence to standards of business conduct andcompliance
