    Job Description

    You will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of fire protection and fire alarm systems for mission-critical facilities, including hyperscale data centers and modular deployments. This includes developing performance-based fire safety strategies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with NFPA, ICC, and local codes. You’ll oversee system design for suppression, detection, and alarm systems, review submittals, and manage commissioning activities. Expect to collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and operations teams to integrate fire protection solutions seamlessly into facility infrastructure. You will also serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance, mentoring junior engineers, and driving continuous improvement in fire safety standards.

    Skills and Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).

    • 5+ years of experience in fire protection engineering or fire alarm system design for mission-critical facilities.

    • Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, ICC standards, and local fire safety regulations.

    • Expertise in fire suppression systems (wet, dry, pre-action, gaseous) and fire alarm systems.

    • Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and fire modeling software.

    • Proven ability to manage projects from design through commissioning.

    • Professional Engineering (PE) license or NICET Level III/IV certification in Fire Protection Systems. • Experience with large-scale data centers or hyperscale environments.

    • Familiarity with performance-based fire protection design approaches.

    • Knowledge of integration with building automation and life safety systems.

    • Exposure to advanced suppression technologies (e.g., Novec 1230, IG-541, water mist systems).

    • Ability to author technical documentation, white papers, and training materials.

    • Experience collaborating with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and fire marshals.
