    The role you will contribute:

    The Director Strategic Management is responsible for developing and leading comprehensive methods to direct the execution of multiple and interrelated programs and top initiatives required to achieve the strategic vision for AdventHealth. This critical role is accountable for enterprise system programs and initiatives, prioritized escalation, timeline visibility, and knowledge transfer. Collaborates with executives and leaders across all corporate functions and operational divisions to facilitate, coordinate, and implement the portfolio of strategic initiatives prioritized by the CCTO (Chief Culture and Transformation Officer), Corporate Cabinet, and senior executives. Programs and initiatives may include but are not limited to, innovation strategies, large-scale transformations, technical implementations, and mission integration and fulfillment. This individual must have the mental agility to be both a strategic thinker and a tactical leader, capable of understanding and communicating the alignment of initiatives to the Vision and project objectives, value propositions, and resource requirements.

    In partnership with the CCTO, develop, recommend, and coordinate long-range plans and strategies to create a mission-focused environment that achieves Vision 2030.

     

    Responsible for program leadership on behalf of the CCTO, working closely with the Executive Sponsors and project teams on reporting deliverables and performance updates.

     

    Provide direct leadership oversight of the Cabinet agenda preparation in partnership with the chief of staff of the President, to ensure the execution of multiple and interrelated programs and top initiatives required to achieve the strategic vision for AdventHealth.

     

    Drive the development of strategic initiatives by structuring complex issues into phased workstreams and deliverables. Ensure project goals and objectives are achieved within the project scope and timeframe established by the Cabinet and management committees. Develop and present comprehensive and strategic business value propositions and plans to support the strategic initiatives identified by the Cabinet and senior executives.

     

    Aligns with CCTO in the development, management and execution of critical projects and touchpoints with entities (internal and external), presentation preparation, keynote preparation, social media strategy execution, and ongoing tracking, progress/milestone accountability, and reporting to Boards, committees, and internal and external audiences.

     

    Serve as an active business partner with the team of executives reporting to the CCTO in executing the CCTOs agenda and strategy and leadership of departments and initiatives. Represent the CCTO in select meetings and collect information from meetings, capture meeting follow-ups, briefing the CCTO, as needed.

     

    On behalf of the CCTO, manage correspondence dealing with issues and subject matter in ways that often require considerable sensitivity, discretion, judgment or negotiation in replying to inquiries. Develop communication strategies for major initiatives and serve as a conduit of information and communication from the CCTO's office as applicable to senior leaders, departments and, in conjunction with the Corporate and Division Communications team, to the organization at-large.

     

    Research and obtain relevant market, demographic, geographic, regulatory and industry data to develop and prepare written briefs on decisions for the CCTO and senior leadership team, including analyzing the pros and cons of options.

     

    Executive oversight of the Cabinet Master Calendar that enhances knowledge of management and collaboration throughout all divisions and corporate functions. Serves as a conduit of information and best practices across the administrative support teams.

     

    Manages agendas by collecting, prioritizing, and completing follow-up activities related to agenda items by coordinating and communicating with senior executives and other leaders. Manages the calendar of the Cabinet to ensure that strategic topics are brought for review in alignment with project timelines.

     

    Identifies and responds to issues and risks, own and provide expedient follow through to action or resolution as applicable, communicating accordingly and appropriately

    Qualifications

    The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

    Strong commitment to AH mission and ethics

     

    Ability to lead and manage strategy and operations team members

     

    Exceptional leadership and people management skills, including decision-making, team-building, motivation, and conflict resolution

     

    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

     

    Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel

     

    Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals

     

    Ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams across department lines and work effectively with diverse populations

     

    Advanced ability to interact with and influence senior management

     

    Ability to create and drive strategy and direction.

     

    Strong working knowledge of health care operations and systems.

     

    Utilize strategic frameworks and key insights to logically and concisely present information

     

    Ability to work independently to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external parties, including executives, employees, physicians and consumers.

     

    Excellent judgment, analytical and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of executives, employees and other contacts, while appropriately and discreetly handling confidential information.

     

    Ability to identify and respond to issues and risks, own and provide expedient follow through to action or resolution as applicable, and communicate appropriately.

     

    Strong understanding/knowledge of change management and/or organizational behavior theory/experience

     

    Working knowledge of performance improvement methodologies such as Total Quality Management, Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), Six Sigma, or Lean Thinking

     

    Bachelors Degree in business, healthcare or related field

     

    Masters Degree in Health Care Administration / Master of Business Administration or related field

     

    Five (5) years of business experience in such areas as hospital administration, strategic planning, business, operational, and financial planning.

     

    Experience in leading organizational change preferred

     

    Experience in performance management preferred
